Khaled was born Aszterophthalmusabi on October 10, 1975 in New York City. He is the son of Magdalena andHonorio Khaled. His father is from Marrakech, Morocco, and his mother is from Queens, New York.
He attended the University of Miami, where he majored in business anddropped out after his first year.
Before launching his music career, Khaled worked as a bartender at a nightclub in New York City. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked at a radio station as a deejay.
In 2001, Khaled released his debut album, Welcome to My Soul, under the name DJ Khaled. The album was a major success, selling over a million copies. His second album, We the People, was released in 2005 and included the hit single " We the People".
In 2007, Khaled released his third album, I'm the One, which included the hit singles "I'm the One", "Never Be the Same", and "Miss You". The last single, "No Brainer", spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
His fourth album, 2012's We the People: II. was released in 2013 and included the hit single "Don't Look Up". His fifth album, 2015's IV}; also known as 5th album is (5) was released in 2017 and includes the hit single "Blessings".
As of January 2021, DJ Khaled has achieved a total of 27 number ones on the Billboard Hot 100.
DJ Khaled's net worth is estimated at $25 million. In October 2018, he purchased a home in the Atlanta area for $2.4 million.
